Who is this program for?

Anyone who wants to learn skills to help them make and keep friends, date, and have better conversations.

Eligible self & plan-managed NDIS participants welcome.

People who enrol in our courses may be experiencing some social struggles related to:

  • Social Anxiety

  • Autism / Asperger’s

  • ADHD

  • Intellectual or cognitive disability (smaller group courses available)

  • Being gifted & talented

  • Dyslexia

  • Introversion

  • Extraversion

  • Lack or loss of confidence

    No matter who you are, if you want to improve your relationships and expand your social life,

    we can help.

    Initially, our participants identify with one or some of the following:

    • A lack of confidence talking to people they don’t know well.

    • A desire to avoid social interactions due to worries about what people might think of them.

    • Concern about saying or doing the wrong thing in social situations.

    • Confusion about not being invited to things, with no explanation why.

    • An ability to ‘make’ friends, but difficulty keeping them.

    • Having few or no close friends.

What will I learn?

Social communication skills that will lead to:

Topics include:

  • General conversation skills.

  • Choosing the right friends.

  • Do’s & don’ts of electronic communication.

  • Reading social cues.

  • Strategies for starting, entering, and exiting conversations.

  • How to plan, invite & host successful catch-ups with friends.

  • How to let someone know you “like” them irl (Young Adult 14-week course)

  • Dating tips (Young Adult 14-week course).

  • Ways to manage arguments and disagreements.

  • Strategies for handling teasing, banter, rumours, and gossip.

  • Young Adults aged 18-30 - Mainstream group.

    Sydney CBD (14-week course) - This group is full.

    *Young Adult group includes a section on dating.

    Our 14-week in-person group suits young adults aged 18-30, who are independently living, studying, or working within the community - pretty much anyone you’d meet on a TAFE or University campus. Up to 10 participants per group.

  • Young Adults aged 18-30 - Moderate learning support group. Begins Wed 22nd April

    Freshwater (14-week course) - Hurry - Filling fast

    *Young Adult groups include a section on dating.

    This 14-week in-person group suits adults aged 18-30 who need more structured support with social skills than a typical group would provide. Suits those with a moderate intellectual or cognitive disability, good reciprocal conversation skills, and an ability to follow directions. 6-8 participants per group. Must be capable of attending the group independently.

    • WEDNESDAY GROUP - 4:30pm - 6:00pm - Begins Wed 22nd April in Freshwater, Sydney.

  • Teens - Year 11 & 12 Students - Moderate learning support group. Begins Tues 28th April

    Freshwater (12-week course) - 2 places still available

    This 12-week in-person program suits year 11 & 12 students who need more structured support with social skills than a typical group would provide. Includes those with a moderate intellectual or cognitive disability, good reciprocal conversation skills and an ability to follow directions. 6 participants per group. Must be capable of attending the group independently.

    • TUESDAY GROUP - 4:30pm - 6:00pm - Begins Wed 28th April in Freshwater, Sydney.

  • Communication & Friendship Workshop for adults over 30+ - Chatswood Library (held over 2 Saturdays) Future dates TBA

    Improve your conversation skills, learn how to broaden your social circle, and take charge of your social life.

    This workshop suits motivated adults aged 30-100 who independently live, study, or work within the community, have average reciprocal conversation skills, and want to improve their social connections.

  • What to expect:

    • Evidence-based social strategies that you can begin using straight away.

    • 2-Day Workshop over 2 consecutive Saturdays offering you the best of the world-renowned PEERS Social Skills Program.

    • Highly experienced course facilitator.

    • Course Dates subject to interest

    • 9:30 am - 3:30 pm - Chatswood Library - The Concourse. Chatswood 2067, NSW.

    • Close to public transport. Paid parking available in Westfield (first 3 hrs free).

      • 1:1 post-course revision sessions available.
