Who is this program for?

Anyone who is motivated to learn skills that will help them to make and keep friends.

  • People who enrol in our course experience social struggles resulting from (but not limited to) things like:

    • Social Anxiety

    • Autism / Asperger’s

    • ADHD

    • Mild to moderate cognitive disability (smaller group courses available)

    • Being gifted & talented

    • Dyslexia

    • Introversion

    • Extraversion

    • Loss of confidence

      Regardless of who you are, if you’re motivated to improve your relationships and expand your social life, we can help.

  • Initially, participants identify with one or some of the following:

    • A lack of confidence conversing with people they don’t know well.

    • A desire to avoid social interactions due to worries about what people might think of them.

    • Concern about saying the wrong thing in social situations.

    • Confusion about being left off invitation lists, with no explanation why.

    • An ability to ‘make’ friends, but difficulty maintaining them.

    • Having few or no close friends.

What will I learn?

Social communication skills that will lead to:

Greater Confidence.

Deeper connections.

Better friendships.

A more fulfilling social life.

Topics include:

  • General conversation skills.

  • Choosing the right friends.

  • Do’s & don’ts of electronic communication.

  • Using humour and assessing your humour feedback.

  • How to start, enter, and exit conversations with people you don’t know well.

  • How to organise successful gatherings with friends.

  • How to develop romantic relationships (Young Adult 16 week course).

  • Dating do’s and don’ts (Young Adult 16 week course).

  • How to manage arguments and disagreements.

  • Handling rejection, teasing, bullying, rumours and gossip.

  • Young Adults - 18-30yrs

    Suits 18-30-year-olds who are independently living, studying and/or working within the community - pretty much anyone you’d meet on a TAFE or university campus.

    HURRY! LIMITED PLACES - ENROLING NOW FOR JULY 2024 START Limit of 10 participants per group.

    • Wednesday Group - Begins 24th July, 6:00pm - 7:30pm - 11 York St, Sydney (above Wynyard Station)

    • Thursday Group - Begins 25th July, 6:00pm - 7:30pm - 11 York St, Sydney (above Wynyard Station)

      *Adult groups include a component on dating.

  • Young Adults - Cognitive Disability - 18-35yrs

    18-35 years with mild-moderate cognitive disability

    Tuesday Group: Begins 23rd July, 4:30pm - 6:00pm in Freshwater (Northern Beaches), Sydney. Limit of 7 participants.

    • Suits young adults (18-35yrs) with a mild ID, low support needs, and average reciprocal conversation skills.

      *Adult groups include a component on dating.

    Over 30’s Weekend Workshop - 30yrs ++

    Suits motivated Adults 30yrs++ who independently live, study and/or work within the community.

    • Expressions of interest are invited

      9am - 4pm - 11 York St, Sydney

      • Saturday Workshop filled with practical information that will increase your confidence and improve your social success.
